Time marches on never ending. I was looking at my diary this morning and realised it's been over a week since I last blogged. What's all that about?

Well I just cannot begin to tell you how crazy it's been at Fashionicide Towers recently, especially as my fashion and jewellery line are finally beginning to take shape. I'm hoping it'll be out in the summer, and while I may be excited, the very thought of it exhausts me *buries head in pillow*

No matter how crazy it's been, I've kept thinking to myself: 'I'll make time to blog tonight', but alas there are just 24 hours in a day and I'm the kinda girl that needs at least 8 of them for sleep (as well as 8 for work, grr!). But tonight I've found some time!

Tonight's post is about injecting a bit of colour into your daily life, and this is something of particular concern to the ladies who don't have a great deal of time in the mornings. Because when you're in a rush every morning it's very easy to fall in to that trap of doing the same routine over and over. Why? Colour takes time, right? WRONG!

I've been sporting ombre eyeshadow of late, partly because it looks gorgeous and partly due to how fracking easy it is! You know how much effort that goes in to blending the darker colour in the crease? None of that here.

Of course, I used my 2013 Product of the Year: Sleek's Ultra Matter Brights Palette V1, but I added in a little bit of a twist by digging out my Sleek Ultra Matte Dark Palette. I know, I know, there's not that much of a difference between the two, but I assure there's enough of a difference to make the look work!

There's a lovely gradient effect going on here, I applied the shade 'Pout' to the inner corner, 'Bolt' on the outer corner and 'Highness' from the Dark Palette in the middle. As the colours are all related, they're already familiar with each other so minimal blending is required! Certainly nothing the MAC 219 brush can't handle. Once all the colours have been applied, it's as easy as swiping the brush across the bits where the colours meet, et voila!

And if you really fancy taking it to the next level, you can take it down to the lower lash line, simply rinse and repeat. Easy!

I have to admit, after a couple of days I did ask myself whether I'm at risk of falling in to the age-old trap of overdoing a fantastic look. It's so easy, I just wanted to do it every day! But the beauty about this look is, once you've got the basics right, it's so easy to just play around with the colours. And if you have one of those 100+ palettes knocking about (try looking under your bed, they're always there) the possibilities are endless!

In other news, I've been thoroughly enjoying the #lifeofamuslimfeminist hashtag that has been trending over the past couple of days on Twitter. It's been insightful and quite comforting for me to realise that I'm truly not alone in this patriarchal society. In fact, it's given me an idea ;)
